Gateway Research Organization (GRO) provides cost-effective applied and adaptive agriculture research, demonstration and extension for producers. GRO helps producers to realize greater returns, improve efficiency and promote environmentally sustainable practices by providing economically and scientifically sound information that enables our clients to make informed decisions.
About our region:
GRO covers the Northwest Region, which include 7 different municipalities:
Thorhild Barrhead Westlock Lesser Slave River Athabasca Parkland Sturgeon
Soils differ significantly throughout our region, therefore our diverse project locations is greatly appreciated among our members, as salinity, density, moisture and/or organic matter levels differ greatly.
On top of that, climate also greatly fluctuates in our area. In order to deliver useful research data to our members, it is of utmost importance that our projects are either duplicated in several key areas or repeated at different locations each year.
